Umberto Eco valued the unread books more than the read ones. The unread shelf, the antilibrary, is a standing reminder of how much you still do not know, and it is more useful than the trophy shelf. This is the other half of my library: books I own, respect, and have not finished. Keeping the list honest is the whole point.
